Blog

I don’t know about you, but since the apocalypse of 2020, and some new starts in my personal life, my makeup habits have changed too. While I used to wear natural glam every weekend, I’m definitely nudging further towards natural now. But I had an event last weekend (what are those again?), and for once decided to turn it up a notch from tinted moisturiser and cream blusher.

Here are my picks for sultry summer glam:

1.  Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter

A cult classic for a reason, this product is radiant and perfecting. I use it like a primer, after moisturiser and before foundation, for a glowy and long-lasting base.

2.  Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua Ultra-Light Skin Perfecting Makeup

I can’t believe I’ve put this to the side for so long. This is probably my favourite foundation. It’s sheer, buildable to medium coverage while still remaining skin-like, and has a beautiful luminosity to it. If you can find a shade that works for you, you’ve got to try this.

3.  Too Faced Sweetheart Bronzer in Sweet Tea

This is summer in a bronzer. It’s glowy without being glittery, blends seamlessly, and is warming and sculpting. It catches the light beautifully, and never looks too heavy. What more could you ask for?

4.  Charlotte Tilbury Beauty Light Wand in Spotlight

As someone with oily/combination skin, day-to-day I don’t tend to use highlighter – I’ve already got a bit of a glow going on there…But for amping up a look, you can’t go wrong with this glossy cream wand. It delivers stunning shine with one swipe, and an almost wet-look finish. It’s buildable too, so customisable for day or night.

5.  Charlotte Tilbury Bigger Brighter Eyes Luxury Eye Palette in Exagger-Eyes

Yep, three out of five come from Tilbury. What can I say? That woman knows how to get the glow. This is a great daytime palette that elegantly brightens and contours the eye, and is warm toned without being overly so (aka orange). I always get compliments when I wear this one.
